/PRNewswire/ — SAN DIEGO, April 12, 2022 — Millennial Tech Middle School (MTM), a new member of the community school alliance, is collaborating with Groundwork San Diego and the UCSD Center on Global Justice to create a new public education paradigm in which students become active agents of change in their communities.

Environment action, in the case of MTM, will serve as a catalyst for reversing the long-standing climate of inequity that has suffocated communities along the Chollas Creek Watershed.

MTM will be transformed into a centre for environmental education and a new model for future schools. MTM will consist of the following when it is finished

  • Indoor classrooms will be upgraded.
  • A four-acre outdoor EarthLab with cutting-edge learning environments
  • A Design Lab for Climate Action (Makerspace)

This paradigm is supported by the Third Option. The EarthLab will be developed into a Climate Action Park by integrating indoor formal approach to outside experiential learning stations.
