One of the top employers in the state, according to Forbes, is the University of South Florida
According to a report Forbes just published, the University of South Florida is among the finest employers in the state. USF is ranked No. 2 among universities and No. 21 out of 100 public and private businesses across a wide range of industries in America’s Best Employers by State. USF President Rhea Law said, “The University of South Florida is honoured to be recognised by Forbes as one of the top employers in Florida. “To achieve our strategic objectives of fostering student achievement, bolstering research excellence, and fostering relationships and collaborations both inside and outside of USF, it is absolutely essential that our professors and staff work together. Because we love our staff members, we make it a priority to create an inclusive workplace environment that promotes their wellbeing.”
Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer Angie Sklenka stated that USF has turned inward to invest in its people. Our students and research will thrive, she continued, “when professors and staff are enthusiastic and find joy at work.” “Finally, institutions of higher learning are realising how critical it is to have a contemporary talent management infrastructure. USF has elevated the role of human resources to the president in order to assist the development of our workforce since we see it as a strategic advantage to our organisational performance.” On its campuses in Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Sarasota-Manatee, USF employs close to 15,700 people.
In order to create its fourth annual list, Forbes collaborated with the market research firm Statista and polled 70,000 Americans employed by companies with at least 500 employees in 25 different industry areas. The 1,382 employers that received the most recommendations are listed, one for each of the 50 states plus the District of Columbia. Working conditions, pay, room for advancement, benefits of remote work, and activities relating to diversity, equity, and inclusion were some of the issues included in the poll. USF was recently ranked among the finest workplaces for women in the country by Forbes’ America’s Best Employers for Women. On that ranking, which covers firms from a variety of industries, USF is ranked number 22.
