PAN – Aadhar Linking: Deadline Ends in Eight Days
By March 31, 2023, all taxpayers must link their permanent account number (PAN) with their Aadhaar, as per an order issued from the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT). Any violation will result in the PAN being considered invalid starting on April 1, 2023.
What will happen if your PAN gets inoperative?
In such a case, the person will not be able to furnish, intimate, or quote his/ her PAN, and shall be liable to all the consequences under the Income-tax Act for such failure.
Restrictions include but are not limited to:
(i) Opening a bank account
(ii) Traveling abroad as your passport will not be made
(iii) Filing ITR and therefore you pay severe penalties & interest
(iv) Buying mutual funds unit of more than Rs. 50,000
(v) Issuing debit/credit cards
