At the 2023 awards, Nottingham Trent University was named University of the Year, and UCB was honored in the international category. Over 35,000 verified student ratings from 240+ higher education institutions across the nation cast votes for the winners.

According to Simon Emmett, CEO of IDP Connect, “These awards showcase the quality of higher education in the UK and its creativity, resilience, and innovation.” “Given the ongoing difficulties with cost of living, we’re happy to highlight and acknowledge all that colleges accomplish well.

He went on to say that “each of our winners and finalists has gone above and beyond to positively impact students’ university experiences,” noting that 2023 test results are much higher than those from prior years. Vice-chancellor and principal of UCB Michael Harkin praised the “outstanding work” done by the international staff in enhancing the overall student experience and providing assistance to “our overseas cohort from even before they arrive in the UK to their welfare while studying with us.”

“As an extremely diverse community, we are also proud to have such excellent integration between our international and domestic students,” he continued. Over 9,000 students are supported by UCB, with the majority remaining in the area after graduation and coming from over 90 different countries. Over the past 20 years, it has earned a reputation for offering the best culinary arts programmes in the field, according to the school.
