Study Abroad: University of Sheffield to Offer 125 PG Merit Scholarship
The University of Sheffield , UK is offering 125 International Postgraduate Taught Merit scholarships in 2024. Interested candidates can apply for these scholarships at the official website — sheffield.ac.uk.
For a postgraduate taught program beginning in September 2024, each scholarship is a competitive award worth £5,000 toward the first tuition charge. To qualify, a student must be a new international student.
Eligibility criteria
Candidate’s program must start at the University of Sheffield in the fall of 2024 in order to be eligible. Additionally, applicants must have been given an offer for a course to be taken entirely at the University of Sheffield. Scholarship applications are not accepted for master’s programs split between the University of Sheffield and a partner institution.
All Crossways courses and Erasmus Mundus courses are ineligible for a merit scholarship.
Distance learning courses are ineligible for a merit scholarship.
Candidates should be self-funded for tuition fee reasons and be obliged to pay the abroad tuition charge.
Students who are sponsored should not run for office.
Selection criteria
A panel of senior members of staff will select the strongest applications and will be looking for the following:
- The applicant has provided examples of their accomplishments in academic, volunteer, and professional fields that show excellence and initiative.
- The applicant has demonstrated how these accomplishments relate to the University of Sheffield course for which they have applied and tied it to their long-term goals.
- The applicant has a distinguished academic record.
- The scholarship applications will begin in late Autumn 2023, and the deadline is 1 pm (UK time) on May 13, 2024. Scholarship results will be announced on June 10, 2024.
