The undergraduate and graduate course registration process has begun at Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI). To be considered for admission to JMI, applicants must first take an entrance exam. By March 30, 2024, candidates can register online for the entrance exam on the university website. Starting on April 25, the university will administer the entrance exam. The university stated that when it announced the admission application for UG and PG programs, it would notify students individually about the schedule of the admission test for the PhD program for the session 2024–25.

Through jmicoe.in, applicants can register for admission at JMI. For each program or group of programs (with combined entrance test), a candidate may only submit one form. A candidate may be rejected if they submit their application for the same program more than once, according to the university.

The university will take into account scores from CUET, JEE, and other national level exams for the majority of UG and PG programs.

According to the university, ten days after the results are announced by the relevant agencies, the online admission forms for the courses where JEE, NATA, and CUET tests will be administered become available.

Except for BTech, BArch, BDS, and a few other courses, admission of qualified applicants to all UG and PG programs offered by various faculties and centers of JMI will be based on merit, which will be decided on the basis of the entrance exam administered by JMI.

The department in charge will decide whether to proceed with an interview and/or additional steps after the entrance exam.

In the event that the descriptive portion of the entrance exam yields less than thirty percent of the possible points, candidates will not be selected for an interview or admission. Additionally, all university programs will have negative marking, with 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect response on objective or multiple-choice questions.

Applicants will not be shortlisted for an interview or admission if they receive less than 15% of the possible points on objective or multiple-choice questions.

Admission to BTech is granted to qualified candidates based on their final ranks in JEE Main 2024; similarly, admission to BArch is granted to qualified candidates based on their final ranks in NATA 2024, which is organized by the Council of Architecture 2024.

Merit-based admission to the BDS program will be determined by the results of NEET 2024.
