BITS Pilani Launches PG Diploma Programme in Smart Manufacturing

The Work Integrated Learning Programmes (WILP) division of Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani (BITS Pilani) has introduced a new PG Diploma programme in Smart Manufacturing. The goal of the new program is to assist engineers in a variety of industries with the design, implementation, and management of digitally enabled manufacturing processes. According to a BITS Pilani statement, the program was created in partnership with organizations in the manufacturing sector and can be pursued without taking a career break.

PG diploma in Smart Manufacturing: Themes, course curriculum

The three overarching themes of the PG Diploma programme are operations management, industrial IoT, and additive manufacturing. These themes support a variety of processes, from data collection to the realization of digital factories.

It covers the IoT-enabled industrial mechatronics, big data analytics, machine learning, blockchains, cloud computing, connected manufacturing, microfabrication, and cybersecurity technologies that enable digital factories.
