The National Eligibility Test (NET) 2024 has been rescheduled to June 18 to prevent overlapping with the UPSC preliminary exam.

UGC Chairman Jagadesh Kumar announced on Monday that the National Eligibility Test (NET), initially slated for June 16 has been rescheduled to June 18.

Mr Kumar stated that the decision was made based on feedback received from candidates.

“Due to applicant input, the National Testing Agency (NTA) and UGC have agreed to move the UGC-NET from June 16 (Sunday) to June 18, 2024 (Tuesday). On a single day, NTA would conduct UGC-NET in OMR format throughout India. “A formal notification will be issued by NTA shortly,” Mr. Kumar stated in a post on X.

The UGC-NET is an important test that establishes eligibility for a number of academic endeavors, such as receiving a Junior Research Fellowship, being appointed as an assistant professor, and being accepted into a PhD program in Indian colleges and universities.

The UGC-NET will be administered in OMR (Pen and Paper) mode to 83 topics by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

Ten days before the test, city notification slips will be made available on the official websites www.nta.ac.in and ugcnet.nta.ac.in.

It is recommended that candidates check the official websites for the most recent information.
