The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IITM) Pravartak Technologies Foundation has launched a new initiative to train students with industry-ready technical skills, completely free of cost. This training programme will focus on IT/Infrastructure and Helpdesk support.

The training programme will commence during the first week of July 2024. Last date to apply is June 12. Those interested can register through the following link — forms.gle/7RhAKgrGRgwr17zd6.

With a preliminary start date of June, this free training program will run for three months, from July to September 2024. Networking Essentials, Cloud Fundamentals, Ticketing Tools, Linux & Windows Basics, Storage & Backup Fundamentals, and Soft Skills are all covered in this classroom-based curriculum.

It is available to BCA students with a least 60% aggregate and BSc graduates in computer science, physics, chemistry, mathematics, and biotechnology from 2023 and 2024. Participants will not get a stipend.

The goal of the program is to give students the tools they need to become part of a small- to medium-sized organization’s IT support staff. There is no assurance of a job placement even with the placement assistance—including mock interviews and campaigns—that will be offered.

An innovation hub for technology centered around sensors, networking, actuators, and control systems is housed within the Section 8 company IITM Pravartak Technologies Foundation. It is hosted by IIT Madras and supported by the Indian government’s Department of Science and Technology as part of its National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems.
