IIT Madras Offers PG Diploma in Metro Rail Tech and Management, GATE Score Required

Applications are being accepted for a one-year postgraduate diploma in Metro Rail Tech and Management at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) by the Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL).

Students can register for the program at careers.chennaimetrorail.org if they have a valid GATE score and a BE or BTech degree in civil, electrical, electronics and communication, electrical and electronics, or mechanical engineering with 70% of the possible points. June 29 is the deadline for program registration.

The interview and valid GATE score determine the provisional selection. The ultimate decision will depend on the candidate’s health.

CMRL will cover the required sponsorship and tuition fees for candidates to pursue PGDMRTM at IIT M. Those who make the final cut will be named Executive Trainees, receiving a stipend of Rs 30,000 per month for a year of study.

Following their successful graduation from IIT Madras, the trainees will be hired by Chennai Metro Rail Ltd. as Assistant Managers, with a five-year contract and a monthly aggregated salary of Rs. 62,000.
