The BTech degree in Engineering Science at IIT Hyderabad is a specialization-opening program that offers a comprehensive engineering education.

The main format is as follows: the student completes foundational coursework in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and several engineering subjects over the first two years (four semesters). The student then chooses to specialize in any topic during the final two years (four semesters); specialization is entirely voluntary: Any field of engineering, including BioTech, Biomed, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Material Science, Chemistry, Design, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, and Psychology, could be involved. However, take note that no more than 10% of the batch’s total number of students may move into any one branch.

The final degree will be awarded with a specialization in XXX and a B.Tech. in Engineering Science.
