Raffles University in Malaysia intends to introduce a degree program that will be taught and evaluated only by artificial intelligence. The degree program was started after Professor Sasa Arsovski, dean of the university’s Faculty of AI and Robotics, created a platform known as MyAi Teaching Assistant.

The university made the decision to introduce the world’s first AI-taught curriculum using the MyAi Teaching Assistant platform in light of the recent surge in artificial intelligence (AI).

The university went on to say that this platform will let students communicate with artificial intelligence (AI) instructor clones, enabling them to join in and participate in an interesting learning experience. The AI lecturer, it claimed, “is capable of independent teaching.” Students are encouraged to actively participate in lessons and can even pause them for clarification thanks to the AI clone.

In order to make this a success, the experts will use the lecturers’ experience and skills, which will be condensed into a PowerPoint presentation. Using this, an artificial intelligence course will be created and delivered to the students.

Artificial intelligence will also be utilized to tailor each student’s learning experience, evaluating their comprehension and generating unique homework assignments based on previous exchanges between the students and the same AI clone. The evaluation of students’ homework replies will be done using the same system, which will do away with the necessity for manual grading and free up teachers to concentrate on high-quality student interaction.

By providing thorough data analytics for every student, the platform helps teachers enhance their methods and customize their instruction to meet the specific needs of each individual student. The university is sure that a situation like this won’t occur when questioned if using an AI tutor will eliminate the human touch, which studies show improves student learning. “To mimic human interaction, our AI lecturer creates an avatar of a person. Associate Professor Greg Pritchard told indianexpress.com, “They are all real human academics supervising and monitoring the interactions.”

The varsity intends to expand this facility to most degree fields since Prof. Arsovski has already used this artificial intelligence platform to cover his classes while he was gone. The privately held university, however, is confident that this won’t result in fewer academics being hired. “We do not anticipate cutting back on our actual academic personnel; instead, we are employing more digital support staff. Even now, university attendance will not deter students who can afford to learn in person. According to Prof. Pritchard, “the AI-delivered degree opens up the life-changing possibilities of gaining a degree to those who currently can’t afford a physical university.”

The program is expected to launch in October, but the university plans to apply for accreditation from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency the following month. The degree program will be offered online through Open Distance Learning (ODL), with an estimated $2000 program fee. The exact cost has not yet been determined.
