IIT Delhi Launches Certificate Programme in Design Thinking & Innovation

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi today launched a certificate programme in Design Thinking and Innovation. This five-month online programme will start on December 20 and aims to equip professionals with the necessary skills to stay competitive in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Senior executives, managers, product developers, entrepreneurs, and business consultants are the target audience for the Design Thinking and Innovation program. Interested students must pay Rs 1,10,000 + GST, and after successfully completing the programme, they would obtain a diploma from IIT Delhi.

According to the news release, the program’s main objectives are ideation, testing, prototyping, generative AI, Human-Centred Design (HCD), iterative design, sustainability, agile design, and data-driven innovation.

Key Components:

— Video lectures, assignments, quizzes
— 1 Capstone Adventure Project. Participants will work on a final capstone project that allows them to apply the full range of design thinking skills to solve complex real-world challenges.
— Generative AI masterclasses: Focused sessions on AI-driven innovation, ethical AI usage, and product development.

Participants will have the option to attend two on-campus sessions at IIT Delhi for further networking and direct interactions with faculty.

The program provides the direction of a seasoned leader in the field of sustainable innovation, under the direction of Professor Vijayaraghavan M. Chariar, an award-winning specialist in Design for Sustainability, Frugal Innovation, and Traditional Knowledge Systems. According to the press release, Prof. Chariar will give attendees insights into combining design thinking with cutting-edge AI tools to help them create meaningful and sustainable innovation.
