The University Grants Commission (UGC) has introduced one new subject in the National Eligibility Test (NET) starting from the December 2024 session. Applicants will be able to register for the new UGC NET 2024 subject while applying for the December 2024 exam application form.

“The UGC-NET test now includes Ayurvedic Biology as a topic. Candidates can choose this special course, which promotes interdisciplinary knowledge and the age-old discipline of Ayurveda, starting in December 2024, UGC announced in a post on the microblogging platform X.

The official website, ugcnetonline.in, has the syllabus for the recently added topic.

“The Commission, in its 581 meeting on June 25, 2024, has decided to add ‘Ayurveda Biology’ as an additional subject from December 2024 onwards to the existing list of subjects of UGC NET based on the expert committee’s recommendations,” the Commission said in a statement.

In June of this year, UGC introduced Disaster Management as a new course. NET is administered by UGC via the National Testing Agency (NTA). Twice a year, in June and December, NTA UGC NET takes place.

On October 17, NTA released the results of the UGC NET June 2024 exam as well as the cut-offs for each subject and category. The UGC NET 2024 June result link may be found on the official website, ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
