IIT-Delhi Introduces Executive Programme in Virtual and Augmented Reality
The Indian Institute of Technology, (IIT) Delhi has introduced a six months executive programme in virtual and augmented reality under its Continuing Education Programme (CEP). This blended learning learning course will equip professionals with expertise and practical skills to drive innovation in the AR and VR landscape, says the institute.
The course provides information on AR and VR technology, covering everything from basic ideas to creating immersive experiences. According to the press release, students will gain fundamental skills including animation design and the creation of interactive AR and VR environments. They will also experience a one-day campus immersion.
The cost of the IIT Delhi course is Rs 1,59,000 including taxes. Candidates may apply for the course if they have a bachelor’s degree in any field or a diploma with three years of work experience. The application deadline is February 11; the program will begin on February 15. Ten specialized courses that include AR-VR development, design principles, creating immersive experiences, game development, and prototyping are part of the IIT Delhi course curriculum. Students will become proficient with industry-standard programs like Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, Unreal Engine, and Unity.
Through practical AR and VR development projects, students will be able to showcase their expertise in a capstone project. According to the announcement, graduates of this program will be well-positioned for in-demand positions such as instructional designers, game designers, and AR/VR designers, with the abilities necessary to define the next wave of digital experiences.
The programme will be delivered through live interactive sessions in a Direct-to-Device (D2D) format, featuring industry-relevant case studies, simulations, projects and assignments.
