The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) and ed-tech platform Emeritus today launched a 10-month women leadership programme that aims to address the persistent gender gap in leadership roles across corporate India. Through this programme, women will be equipped with critical leadership skills, strategic insights, and the confidence to break the glass ceiling to excel in C-suite and board-level roles.

Only 23.2% of corporate company leadership positions are held by women, and women only make up 1.6% of Fortune 500 leadership positions in India and less than 12% of CXO positions, according to the KPMG Women Leadership in Corporate India Report 2024. Additionally, fewer than 30% of women in entry-level jobs advance to senior leadership positions, underscoring the pressing need for focused interventions to combat structural prejudices and promote inclusive work environments.

Women professionals at the mid- and senior-level are the target audience for this new program. Capstone projects, seminars on strategic negotiation, design thinking, and digital transformation, and live interactive sessions given by IIM Kozhikode faculty are all combined to give participants a practical, hands-on learning experience.

According to IIM Kozhikode director Professor Debashis Chatterjee, “Leadership is about breaking barriers and reshaping narratives.” With the help of this program, we hope to enable women to contribute their distinct viewpoints to leadership positions, resulting in revolutionary improvements for organizations and industries.

Programme Details:

● Start Date: March 31, 2025

● Duration: 10 months

● Eligibility: Minimum graduate or diploma holder (10+2+3) with 5+ years of work experience

● Programme Fee: Rs 3,5 lakh + GST

● Learning Mode: Live online sessions

● Certificate: Verified digital certificate and Executive Alumni status upon successful completion

The curriculum tackles the structural obstacles that women in leadership encounter. Participants in this program will study how to lead high-performing teams and acquire critical negotiating, decision-making, and strategic thinking abilities.
