Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) has introduced new courses in psychology and geoinformatics, expanding its academic offerings to cater to emerging industry needs.

Along with history, political science, and sociology, psychology is now the fourth major subject offered in the five-year BA-MA Liberal Arts program at GGSIPU’s School of Liberal Arts. This multidisciplinary curriculum was created in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) with the goal of equipping students with the information and abilities necessary to evaluate human behavior and cognitive processes.

Addressing societal issues pertaining to mental health and well-being in a time of swift social change requires a grasp of psychology. Students will gain comprehensive problem-solving abilities that will allow them to address intricate social, political, economic, and cultural challenges by combining psychology with other academic fields.

Furthermore, beginning with the 2025–2026 academic year, the University School of Environment Management (USEM) at GGSIPU will offer a two-year postgraduate degree in Applied Geoinformatics. Merit in the qualifying test and scores on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) and CET (Common Entrance Test, administered by the University) will determine admission to this program.

A graduation degree in science, engineering, or geography with at least 50% of the possible points overall for general category students and 45% for SC/ST applicants is required to be eligible for the Applied Geoinformatics program.

Additionally, USEM has started the admissions process for its Environmental Science Bachelor of Science degree. Admission will be determined by the CUET and CET results as well as the candidate’s performance on the qualifying exam. For general category students, the eligibility requirements are 10+2 (science) with at least 50% of the possible points overall, while for SC/ST applicants, the minimum score is 45%.
