SEBI Introduces Certification Courses on Anti-Money Laundering, Financing Terrorism

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has introduced two new courses on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) for the market intermediaries. According to a statement from Sebi, the training is intended to establish a basic level of awareness for workers and those connected to them regarding the principles of AML and CFT and linked topics, the PMLA and PML regulations, and scheduled offenses under the Companies Act and the Sebi Act.
According to the SEBI announcement, the seminars are designed to increase market intermediaries’ understanding of the rules pertaining to AML standards, CFT, and proliferation financing.
For the benefit of securities market intermediaries, SEBI has been conducting outreach programs centered on the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) regulations in an effort to improve the capital market.
Additionally, the SEBI is engaged in various initiatives to raise awareness about these provisions among participants in the securities market.
As part of this endeavor, the course named “AML and CFT Provisions in Securities Market Certification Examination” has been prepared by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) in partnership with the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM).
