DTU to Set Up Research Park at Narela Campus to Expand Digital Education

In order to turn Delhi Technological University (DTU) into a center of inclusive and future-ready education, Vice-Chancellor Prateek Sharma has announced a number of initiatives, such as the construction of a Research Park on the campus in Narela, increased outreach through digital education, and new international partnerships.
At a press conference, Sharma stated, “Our university’s fundamental objective is knowledge. In order to encourage digital inclusion, we are launching a computer literacy program in five villages. DTU has inked memorandums of understanding with the South Asian University (SAU) to strengthen regional academic cooperation and with the University of Houston in the United States to promote student exchange programs as part of its worldwide outreach.
DTU has introduced three new undergraduate BTech programs with an emphasis on semiconductors, AI, and data analytics in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Additionally, a brand-new, multidisciplinary Department of Geospatial Science and Technology has been created.
The goal of NEP is to provide a syllabus that is unique to each student. In order to close the gap between education and the demands of the actual world, we are also contacting industries,” Sharma stated.
DTU has established a cutting-edge laboratory to facilitate research and development in partnership with businesses.
Sharma emphasized the university’s emphasis on accessibility by announcing the growth of DTU’s online learning platform, which provides certificate programs that last anywhere from a week to many months. Why should only individuals who pass admission examinations have access to high-quality education? Many students encounter obstacles that are out of their control. Reaching the masses is our goal,” he stated.
Additionally, DTU is supporting important environmental projects. Its Environmental Sciences department works with the Delhi government to revitalize the Yamuna and with the NDMC to mitigate floods at ITO. The Lieutenant Governor has received a proposal from the institution to address pollution control.
DTU will be authorized to set up a center to evaluate safety in road tunnels longer than 1.5 kilometers thanks to an MOU with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. The institution also provided updates on its interdisciplinary education models in accordance with NEP 2020, R&D incubation initiatives with entrepreneurs, and the admissions procedure for 2025–2026.
