The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM Kozhikode) today introduced the Chief Operations Officer Programme in India in partnership with Emeritus, an educational institution.

It will be a 12 month long programme designed for operational leaders and those aspiring to the COO role, as well as new and evolving COOs. For operational leaders, the program offers a deep dive into contemporary topics such as technology, design thinking, AI, digital supply chain, agile methodologies, and risk resilience, enabling them to optimize operational processes and build influential networks.

The 12-month program is intended for operational leaders, aspirants to the COO position, and newly appointed or transitioning COOs. The program provides operational leaders with an in-depth exploration of modern subjects like technology, AI, digital supply chain, design thinking, agile methodologies, and risk resilience. This allows them to enhance operational processes and establish powerful connections.

This programme consists of two online modules taught by Kellogg Executive Education using pre-recorded video lectures, as well as live online sessions led by the distinguished faculty of IIM Kozhikode. A leadership development workshop at the campus of IIM Kozhikode is part of the three-day campus immersion program. Additionally, students engage in hands-on learning through business simulations in Strategic and Global Supply Chain Management, culminating in a capstone project overseen by IIMK faculty.

The program comprises several modules, such as operational diagnostics, supply chain agility, mitigating supply chain risks, business models and technology disruptions, generative artificial intelligence (AI) for business leaders, AI applications in supply chain management, AI and customer experience management, delegation, execution, and metrics for growth and success. The program is led by Professor Ashutosh Sarkar of IIM Kozhikode and Associate Professor Arqum Mateen of the same institution.
