The registrations for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) will begin on August 24 and conclude on September 26. Once the login window opens in August, candidates can fill the application form at  the official website — gate2025.iitr.ac.in 

GATE is a national-level examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering/ technology/ architecture/ science/ commerce/ arts/ humanities and is to be held from February 1 to 16.

Data required for filling the online application form of GATE 2025:

  1. Personal information including name, date of birth, personal mobile number, parents’ name, parents’ mobile number, etc.
  • The name of the candidate must be exactly the same as that in the application form and the valid photo ID
  • GATE 2025 scorecard will be published as per the name entered in the application form.
  • Prefixes and titles such as Mr, Mrs , Shri, Smt, Dr, Prof, Capt, Maj, Lt, Col, Er, Ar, etc. must not be used.
  1. Address for communication (including PIN code).
  2. Eligibility degree details.
  3. the GATE papers with their codes in which the candidate wishes to appear.
  4. Any three cities of choice for the GATE examination centre (from the same zone).
  5. Details of their Net-banking /debit card / credit card / UPI for the fee payment.

GATE 2024 Application: Documents required 

  • High quality image of candidate’s coloured photograph of passport size. The background of the image should be white without the presence of any object or person. The photograph should be in JPG/ JPEG format and must show the frontal part of the face covering eyes, nose, lips and forehead. (size not more than 1 MB).
  • High quality image of candidate’s signature done by the candidate and with black or dark blue colour ink only. The size of the photo should not exceed more than 1 MB.
  • Copy of category certificate (SC, ST)  in pdf format (if applicable).
  • Copy of scanned PwD certificate in the pdf format (if applicable).
  • Copy of scanned certificate of dyslexia in pdf format (if applicable).
  • Scanned copy of valid photo Identity document: aadhar-UID (preferable)/ passport/ PAN card/ voter id/ driving license.
  • The photo id must have the name, date of birth of the candidate and unique photo id number. This photo id must be carried to the examination hall for verification.

Candidates must make sure that the uploaded documents are clear and readable. Uploading unreadable documents may result in delayed processing of the application and even to the rejection of candidature.
