NIT-Srinagar: A look at Last Five Years NIRF Rankings
This year, the National Institute of Technology, Srinagar (NIT-S) achieved an improvement in its rating in the engineering category of the National Institutional rating Framework (NIRF). Currently ranked 79th with a TLR of 62.60 is the NIT.
NIT Srinagar’s ranking decreased to 82 last year from 66 in 2022. The Institute’s position within the engineering category has increased from the 2023 rankings, according to the most recent NIRF 2024 rankings, which were revealed by the Education Minister on August 12.
However, the institute was unable to establish itself in any of the other NIRF 2024 areas, such as innovation, research, architecture, or overall.
NIT Srinagar also did not achieve a position in the QS World University Rankings, however, it did fall within the 1201–1500 band in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2024. Here’s a look at the Institute’s NIRF rankings.
NIT Srinagar: NIRF Rankings
While the rank may have decreased in 2023, its score witnessed a slight increase from the one obtained in 2022 in the engineering category. In 2023, it scored 45.70 but 45.52 in 2022.
It scored 58.44 in teaching, learning, and resources (TRL) out of 100, 26.62 in research and professional practice (RPC) out of 100, 64.89 in graduation outcomes (GO), 59.67 in outreach and inclusivity (OI), and 12.30 in perception out of 100 in the engineering category in 2023, earning it a 45.70 score.
Founded in 1960, NIT Srinagar comprises 12 departments and provides undergraduate engineering courses in the following areas: computer science and engineering, chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, information technology, electronics and communication engineering, and metallurgical and materials engineering.
