IIT Madras Announces Admission for Second Batch of BTech in AI Programme, JEE Advanced Score Needed

The second group of students will be admitted to the Indian Institute of Technology Madras’ (IIT Madras) BTech in AI program for the 2025–2026 academic year. The B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics program is designed to give students the essential knowledge and abilities to become worldwide leaders in the field of AI.

The undergraduate curriculum emphasizes both the foundations of artificial intelligence and application development. According to a statement from IIT-M, it also provides a strong industry connection through its internships and UG Research Opportunities.

According to a statement from the nation’s top-ranked Institute by NIRF, “students will have career opportunities in diverse areas ranging from fundamental research in global tech companies to applied sectors like manufacturing and healthcare.”

In addition to this, the programme will provide academic flexibility through a wide range of electives from within and outside the department, which include Speech and Language Technology, Computer Vision, Applications in Control and Detection and Time-Series Analysis.

“The Program aims to cultivate expertise in diverse aspects of AI and data analytics, offering a panoramic view of its applications across industries,” the varsity said.

At the next JOSSA Counseling, students who passed the JEE (Advanced) exam can select this curriculum. 50 has been established as the intake capacity. 412L: Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics is the course code.

As one of the “top AI-focused schools worldwide and also advise the Government and policymakers on Data Science and AI-related policy areas,” the Wadhwani School of Data Science and AI is offering the B.Tech in AI course.

Students are given a strong toolkit to address the many issues in this field, ranging from core courses in linear algebra and calculus to specialized modules in machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, foundation models, and reinforcement learning.

Students will be able to enroll in courses from either of the two main baskets of data science and artificial intelligence (AI), which include both traditional and system-oriented applications.

Furthermore, there are courses that introduce the concepts of responsible AI design. The curriculum teaches how to use data analytics and AI techniques to address real-world difficulties across a variety of areas, with an emphasis on application to real-world problems and Fair and Responsible AI. While guaranteeing the moral and just application of technology, it encourages creativity and impact and upholds the values of justice and accountability in AI development.

“AI and Data Analytics is an emerging area,” stated Prof. V. Kamakoti, the head of IIT Madras. The meticulously developed curriculum of this BTech course is precisely in line with the demands of the research community and industry.
