The University of Mumbai will today release the first merit list for the undergraduate courses. Students who applied for the UG course will be able to check the merit list from the official website–mu.ac.in, once released. This year, the university has received more than 8.1 lakh applications with students applying for admission to various courses of their choice.

Students can now verify whether they have a spot in the institution and the course of their choosing after applying for courses such as BA, BCom, BSc, BMS, BAF, BMM, BBI, and BFM, among others. For the merit lists, candidates can check the physical notice boards at the colleges or go to the official college websites.

Students are instructed by MU to double-check the accuracy of their names, categories, and percentages because any inconsistencies must be reported right once to the relevant college administration.

Mumbai University Admissions 2025: Document verification

Selected candidates are required to complete the document verification and fee payment process by May 30. Students must carry original documents along with photocopies, including:

–Class 12 marksheet

–Caste or category certificate (if applicable)

–Transfer and Leaving Certificate

–Passport-size photographs

–Identity proof

For those who were unable to get a spot-on Mumbai University’s first merit list, the second and third merit lists would be crucial. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to change their preferred college or subject.

It is anticipated that the second merit list will be made public on May 31, 2025, and the third and final merit list will be made public on June 5. A two- to three-day window for document verification and fee payment will follow each list.

Notably, a small number of MU courses have only received one-digit applications for admission. Bachelor of Fine Art, Bachelor of Performing Arts, and Bachelor of Engineering in Printing and Packaging Technology are examples of such studies.

More than 3.80 lakh applications have been received for commerce and allied courses offered by MU and its affiliated colleges. In the science stream, however, the difference in the number of applications between traditional and professional courses is much larger. In the arts stream, fewer than 50,000 applications have been received for the traditional BA course.
