IGNOU Admissions: University Extends ODL Registration Deadline for July 2025 Session

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has prolonged the registration deadline for its July 2025 admissions to Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programmes until August 31. Interested candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can submit their applications via the official website at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in. Applicants are required to furnish details such as their username, full name, email address, password, and mobile number to finalize the registration process.

Furthermore, candidates must upload scanned documents in accordance with the specified guidelines, including a passport-size photograph (maximum 100 KB in JPG format), a signature image (maximum 100 KB in JPG format), and other relevant documents (each up to 200 KB in JPG or PDF format).

IGNOU registration 2025: How to apply

Step 1: Visit the official website: ignou.samarth.edu.in/index.php/site/login.

Step 2: Enter your enrollment number and password.

Step 3: The dashboard of the candidate will open. It will have an option for registration.

Step 4: Select the link and select courses, and complete the payment.

Step 5: Download the application for future reference.

Should there be two payments for the same application, one of them will be refunded to the respective account. If candidates utilize third-party services such as a cybercafé to submit their registration forms, it is essential to confirm that they have accurately selected the courses and successfully paid the program fee.

Meanwhile, India’s leading open university (according to NIRF Rankings 2024) has experienced a rise in total registrations from 673,000 in 2018-19 to 753,000 in the academic session of 2023-2024. Over the past six years, the varsity has introduced numerous programmes across all tiers – certificate, diploma, Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD.

Moreover, Uma Kanjilal’s appointment as Vice Chancellor of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) marks her as the first woman to occupy this position since the university was founded in 1985. On Thursday, IGNOU announced it, marking exactly one year since she assumed the role of Acting Vice Chancellor on July 25, 2024.
