Extension of the PAN-Aadhaar Connection Deadline through June 30

The Aadhaar and PAN card linking deadline has been extended by the Income Tax Department. To prevent the deactivation of their PAN card, taxpayers who have not yet linked their Aadhar with PAN are urged to do so by June 30. As of July 1, 2017, any person who has been assigned a PAN must link both identification cards, according to the Income Tax Department of India. The notification read, “The date for intimating Aadhaar to the prescribed authority for the purpose of linking PAN and Aadhaar has now been extended to 30th June, 2023.” The Finance Ministry also said that if PAN and Aadhaar cards are not linked till June 30, the PAN card will be rendered inoperative.
